FESTIE SEASON

wanee > NOLA jazz fest!!!!> summercamp > sonicbloom > telluride bluegrass > oregon country fair > all good > cheese red rocks…

*~le hair~*

dreaddies are about 4 months old now! ive noticed that the bottoms of them are getting really loopy and twisty and kind of flat looking ( i call them beaver tails)..the tops of them towards my scalp are locking up pretty nicely, but my hair has lost SO much length. i still do miss my old hair, but this dread journey has been too much fun…

i’ve been out of town for a month and a half and its so weird coming back home. people that i havent seen in awhile are like “oh my gosh your hair has changed so much!” i guess i dont realize cause i see it everyday but it really has come a long way. blah blah blah off to do 5 thousand pounds of laundry and lounge with the boyfriend. HAPPY WEDNESDAY!!! and happy birthday mr. jerry garcia :)

NATTY DREADS!!!!!!

these are my free form dreads after 3-4 months? not sure the exact age of them but they have come a LONG way. i’ve been traveling the past month and the elements of colorado have soaked themselves in to my hair. its gotten super loopy and kinky, and shrunk up a lot (which makes me kind of sad cause i miss my long hair sometimes). i am so excited to see how they keep evolving! the back of my head has the fattest dreads that have locked up the most. i assume this is because i usually sleep on the back of my head..

i currently have a bunch of sequins and ribbons and stuff in my hair, as well as glass beads my friend selina makes. one of my favorite parts of dreaddies is being able to decorate them and make my hair a piece of art!

just thought id do a little update since i havent in awhile! cheeeeeersss!!!

WEEEEEEEEEE

this will be my last “dreaddy” update for the next month. going to colorado with the man friend for music and camping and exploring and adventure!

dis hair is almost 3 months old. going through some weird loopy stages…i cant wait to see what they do this summer. i want them to start rounding out instead of being all loopy and weird.. theres some fatty dreads in the back of my head..ANYWAYSSSSSSS

cant wait to see colorado. i know i will fall in love. happy summer yall!

wish i would have paid attention to when i first started dreading my hair, but its definitely been at least 2 months. they are starting to get really wavy and loopy, which is causin my hair to shrink up a lot :(   im not liking the way some of them are coming out right now because i feel like they dont look like “dreads” but more just like hair that hasnt been brushed in 2 months (which essentially is what it is)…. everyone keeps reminding me to have patience, since it does take about 6 months to a year for dreads to start “maturing.”

regardless, i have loved the adventure so far and i love my hairs so much. i cant wait to see all the knotty shenanigans they get into this summer ;)

dont mind the champagne bottle…

how is it that

going out for a drink turns into eating calzones and arugala salad at 5 in the morning???

and then walking 2 miles in the hot hot hot dirty hot tucson sun

grad life

DREADDY SPAM!!!!

sorry guys, i am totally loving my hair today so i of course had to take glamour shots to share with all of you!

overall, we are doin good! i wanna say its been about 6 weeks now? 6 weeks of just washing it and separating them as they form. i can’t believe how many people have asked me “so what’s it like not washing your hair??” I WASH MY HAIR!! anyways, i digress..

each day is a new experience with the hairs. i have loved watching them grow and change. i am excited to watch them transform this summer..

it’s just hair :)

hippie bath day
